Napa Valley Writers will host Kevin Courtney, a retired city editor Napa Valley Register and writer of the Napa Journal column, which is in its 33rd year.

Courtney’s column Is a “slice of life” about him, his family, and his take on Napa and the world. It continues to run each Sunday.

Courtney lived in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, Alabama, and Tennessee, before returning to New Jersey to attend Rutgers University in New Brunswick, majoring in psychology. He signed up for ROTC to avoid being drafted during the Vietnam War as a private and lucked out with assignments with Army missile units in the Bay Area and Greece. He received his master’s in English education at Rutgers before working one year as a reporter for the Fairfield Daily Republic. He then spent 38 years reporting for Napa Register before becoming city editor in 2010.
