Coastal Dunes (Hybrid): Not Just Another Book About War

Our next meeting is Saturday, November 5, 2022, in person at the Nipomo Library and via Zoom, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM.
Speakers: Annette Langlois Grunseth
Annette Langlois Grunseth, is published widely in journals and anthologies. She has won awards with Wisconsin People and Ideas, Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets, and The Mill: A place for writers. Her first book, Becoming Trans-Parent: One Family’s Journey of Gender Transition (Finishing Line Press) earned a Pushcart Prize nomination. Her book, Combat, and Campus: Writing Through War, (Elm Grove Press) won a Gold Medal with the Military Writers Society of America. When not writing, you will find her kayaking Wisconsin lakes or riding a bike trail where her muse tags along, just for the exercise. Learn more at www.annettegrunseth.com
Topic: Not Just Another Book About War- Uncensored letters from a journalist about what really happened in Vietnam jungle combat are paired with his sister’s story of antiwar protest from a Big Ten campus. Grunseth includes letters along with poetry to process what happened then, and in the years since the Vietnam war.

Our in-person monthly meetings are open to the public and held at the:
Nipomo Library, Community Room, 918 West Tefft Street, Nipomo, CA
Directions: From 101 northbound or southbound, take the Tefft Street exit.
Proceed west for .9 miles. At Orchard, turn right into the library parking lot.
Date/times: Saturday mornings (the first Saturday of each month unless a holiday weekend)
