Coastal Dunes (Zoom): How to Write a Series (or Two, or Three …)
January 8 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Topic: How to Write a Series (or Two, or Three …) w/ Jenna Elizabeth Johnson, Author and Past President, Coastal Dunes CWC
Jenna Elizabeth Johnson is a bestselling, multi award-winning author of fantasy. She has written multiple books in the Otherworld, Draghans of Firiehn (dragons of fear-ee-en), and Legend of Oescienne (aw-see-en) series. She has also written several short stories as part of anthology collections or as standalone tales. When not writing, Jenna can be found practicing long sword fencing or tending to her flock of beloved chickens.
Whether you are on a mission to create a book series, or find yourself on the path to add sequels to that standalone novel, the process can be both exhilarating and exhausting. This presentation will touch upon the accidental series (writing more books than you expected), the intended series (the one you planned out), as well as the anthology series (stories written specifically to be featured in an anthology collection) and more. If you think your story is not quite complete when you type THE END, or if you’d like to learn the benefit and drawbacks of writing a series of books, then this is the presentation for you.
