The event is scheduled for Monday\, March 21\, 2023\, from 5pm to 7pm at the Hesperia Library Community Room 9650 Seventh Avenue in Hesperia. The public is invited and welcome to attend at no charge. \nThe local writers club has engaged in the spotlighting of women for several years in the month of March\, which is designated for women’s history. Refreshments will be served. Those wishing to do a 3-to-5-minute reading\, memory\, or statement about a special spunky woman may sign up at the meeting. \nExamples of some who have been honored in the past are Amelia Earhart\, Rosa Parks\, Eleanor Roosevelt\, and Oprah Winfrey. \nThe California Writers Club meets monthly. DESCRIPTION:March 21\, 2023\nPaul Zeidman\nScreenwriting 101: Learning The Basics\, And A Little More \nEvery film begins with the script and knowing the basics of writing a screenplay can set you on the right path. Among the topics covered in this presentation are: the importance of “show\, don’t tell\,” what should and shouldn’t be on the page\, what we mean by structure and why it’s so important\, the meaning of familiar but different (or\, Where have I seen this before?)\, and screenwriting as a marathon–not a sprint. \nPaul Zeidman is an award-winning screenwriter and the author of the three GO AHEAD AND ASK screenwriting books. Paul has been running his screenwriting blog Maximum Z since 2009\, co-hosts the Creative Writing Life podcast\, and has been the featured guest on several screenwriting podcasts. \nWe meet at 5:30pm on the third\nTuesday of the month at the\nCenter for Spiritual Awareness\,\n522 Central Ave.\nNext to the PG Library. \nJoin us for pizza at $2 a slice\nincluding a bottled water.
